LES CULTURES URBAINES DANS L’OBJECTIF DE WILLY VAINQUEUR

 

Capitale des cultures urbaines en France, la Seine-Saint-Denis s’est illustrée au cours des 40 dernières années comme une terre de danse Hip Hop, dont l’identité urbaine est traversée par les œuvres monumentales des plus grands grapheurs, aujourd’hui reconnus dans le monde entier. Les pionniers du Rap français comme le collectif 93 NTM de Saint-Denis en sont originaires, les premiers festivals à accueillir ce bouillonnement des cultures urbaines venues d’outre-atlantique se nomment « Fête et Fort » en 1984 à Aubervilliers ou plus tard le festival Kosmopolite de Bagnolet pour le graph’ et le festival Villes des musiques du Monde pour la danse. Ces mobilisations artistiques et culturelles n’ont pas échappé à l’objectif du photographe Willy Vainqueur qui nous offre ici une rétrospective subjective de plusieurs décennies passé aux côtés du grand mouvement Hip Hop dans le département. Enfant de la balle, Willy Vainqueur a passé son adolescence à Aubervilliers. Après des études dans le champ de la communication et de l’image, il rejoint le service communication de la ville. Il est le témoin de la naissance d’une culture Hip Hop en France et documente de manière réjouissante les premières battles de danse de l’ancienne casse d’Aubervilliers en 1984, arpente le territoire et immortalise les plus beaux graph’ de l’époque et nous offre les visages juvéniles des plus grands rappeurs de cette génération spontanée. De « Fêtes et Fort » aux initiatives de « Moov’n Aktion » de Pantin, jusqu’aux œuvres du Auber’graphitti show, revivez à travers son regard, les grands jalons de l’émergence du mouvement Hip Hop dans le 93, haut-lieu de patrimoine des cultures urbaines.
